Today where I am in the world is Coventry, England!
My first flight took off yesterday at 1:45pm Chicago time (7:45pm London time) from Chicago. I connected in Raleigh, and, by 7am London time (1am Chicago time), I was in London. The journey was actually easier than I thought it would be. My connecting flight was one gate over from the gate at which I arrived; there was a slight hiccup in the trip at immigration (note to self and everyone else reading this: triple check exactly what extra paperwork the airport needs to let you through); my baggage was waiting for me when I arrived in London; I rode the tube to the train station with confidence thanks to my metro experience from visiting Maria and Drew in D.C.; my train was right on time; and the taxi driver who took me to the guest house I'm staying at was very nice. If you include the shuttle bus that Mom and I took from our hotel in Chicago to O'Hare, I think I used every form of public transportation available in this one trip.
Now, I'm staying at a cozy, homey guest house until I can move into my dorm. I took a walk around the neighborhood this afternoon to find a Staples store of all things! It was perfect, because I needed help with a converter issue with my computer. The computer guy figured out what was going on, and I went on my merry way. "Well, that was easy!"
On to explore Coventry University tomorrow!

p.s. I've been awake for 27 of the last 28 hours. I'm attempting to beat the jetlag by just staying awake until it's England's bedtime. It's actually not that bad once you get past the 20th-22nd hours, it's not so bad. ;-) I'm definitely looking forward to sleeping tonight, though.
Or maybe it is that bad... Who can spot the redundancy in that comment?
Still trying to make the website work...welcome to England!
